Bruny Island and Western Explorer Roads
Some car companies will not insure vehicles for travel on Bruny Island and the Western Explorer roads. Please be sure to read the booking terms and conditions prior to confirming your car hire.
Car hire on the Western Explorer Route (from Corinna to Arthur River) is generally not allowed due to insurance restrictions. Fuel is also limited, with no fuel available on the Western Explorer between Marrawah and Zeehan.
Bruny Island Ferry
Bruny Island is accessible only by ferry, which runs 365 days per year on a regular daily service.
