Bay of Fires
Travel amongst rainforests and farmlands of North East Tasmania and visit one of the world’s most beautiful beaches at the Bay of Fires, extending from Binalong Bay to Eddystone Point. Enjoy a combination of white sandy beaches, orange-hued granite rocks and turquoise-colored water with small groups of up to 10 passengers. Visit Bridestowe Lavender Farm (replaced by Legerwood Tree Carvings from 01 Apr – 01 Sept/time permitting), a quick stop in Scottsdale at the award-winning Cottage Bakery and take a short walk-through moss-covered trees and ferns in the Myrtle Rainforest Walk on the Welborough Pass. Bring your own lunch or purchase lunch enroute at Binalong Bay. Sample Oysters straight from the farm at lease 65 (subject to availability).
Cradle Mountain
Travel deep into the lush Tasmanian forest and experience the solitary wilderness of waterfalls, glacier lakes, rainforest, wildlife and the unsurpassed beauty of the World Heritage Listed, Cradle Mountain National Park. Keep an eye out for wombats, potaroos and wallabies that inhabit the area and walk through the Enchanted Forest to view pencil pines, lush rainforest and a spectacular waterfall. Marvel at the spectacular scenery of Dove Lake and perhaps take a short stroll. Pass the quaint towns of Carrick, Hagley and Westbury and the scenic town of Deloraine, renowned for its arts and crafts. View the many intricate and life like murals and the towns buildings at a stop in Sheffield-town of murals. Enroute back to Launceston, indulge in some of Australia’s finest cheeses at Ashgrove Cheese Farm and learn how cheese is made and sample the numerous varieties of cheese made on the premises.
